Small Herd of 14 Highland Cows bred from show winning stock. All Spring Calving from the best of some of the rarest old bloodlines around today.
Breeding limited number of pedigree stock of show potential. Most steers finished at home. Everything outwintered on silage diet. Hi-Health Level 2 accredited free from IBR/BVD/Johnnes/Lepto. We are also fully Farm Assured with Quality Meat Scotland.
Clare 4th of Strathmashie, one of this years calves enjoying the mild winter weather on the West Coast of Scotland at Arisaig. Like all our Highland heifer calves clare has been broken to the halter and leads out well and practices most days.
She will be shown at some of the local shows this summer so that she is well and truly quiet before being accepted into the rest of the herd as a breeding cow.
We have at least four major maternal bloodlines that we keep and these are all present in the small fold of cows we have and can all be traced back to some of the rarer and more interesting bloodlines available today.
The fold also has evidence of some of the better known male bloodlines that have commanded high prices at Oban in recent years because we have had them as stock bulls in the past, such as Hercules of Springfield and Seamas of Pennygowan.
